Game Recap

The Falcons traveled to Culver Thursday night for a showdown against the CMA Eagles. The game was a C Game (Sophomores and Freshman) which started at 5:30. The young Falcons defense was stout the entire night keeping the Eagles out of the end zone, while the offense put 16 points on the board for the victory. Trevor Weiss led the offensive attack scoring twice, running for a 2 point conversion and throwing for another while Cameron Creed led with tackles and flew around on defense.

Game Summary


The Falcons defense came out and set the tone forcing CMA to punt after 3 downs. A Falcon fumble gave the ball right back but the defense stood tall and stopped the Eagles on a 4th down attempt. The Falcons drove the length of the field and capped off the drive with a Trevor Weiss 1 yd QB sneak for the score. A fade pass from Trevor Weiss to Collin Barker in the corner of the end zone made the score 8 – 0.


The Falcons once again stopped CMA’s drive and forced them into a punting situation. A fake punt by the Eagles kept the drive alive though. The Falcons defense took the field again and turned the Eagles away stopping them again on 4th down. The Falcons offense took to the air this drive. A long pass from Brandon Becker to Collin Barker put them into Eagle territory. A few plays later another long pass from Trevor Weiss to Collin Barker put the Falcons at the 2 yd line. Trevor Weiss scored on the next play and converted the 2 point to make it 16-0.


CMA came out and recovered an onside kick. The Falcons defense once again rose to the occasion and turned them away. The quarter ended with the score still 16-0.


The game was ended early as one of the Falcons suffered a severe injury and was carted away by ambulance.
