CENTIER BANK PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
The Centier Bank Performers of the Week are East Chicago Central senior basketball player Jibril Harris and John Glenn senior basketball player Kyannah Stull.
In the Cardinals’ 74-67 win over Hammond on Tuesday, the 6-foot-7 Harris tallied 12 points and then added 17 points in Saturday’s 55-48 upset of No. 3 (Class 3A) Griffith. Harris also pulled down 13 rebounds and had three blocked shots against the Panthers to help East Chicago Central improve its record to 9-6.
The 5-foot-4 Stull helped the Falcons (18-4) to their second TCU Bi-County Tournament title in three years Saturday by scoring 19 points in a 39-23 win over Bremen in the championship game. In capturing most valuable player honors, she connected on 6-of-12 field goals, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. In Thursday’s 64-61 win over defending champion Oregon-Davis in the semifinals, Stull became the school’s all-time leading scorer by netting 19 of her game-high 25 points in the second half. She started off the week by tallying 18 points in 74-39 triumph over New Prairie and now has 1,279 career points.
The Centier Bank Performer of the Week is open to any male-female student athlete who participates in any IHSAA sanctioned sport and whose school is in the Centier Bank geographic area.
She was also named the TCU Bi-County Tournament MVP after scoring 62 points over the course of three games.
