Seja’s U17 Jr. Irish Super Y team qualified for the North American Championships, which will take place at IMG in Bradenton, FL later this year. The North American tournament, which brings in the best teams from the United States and Canada, will run from December 7th – 11th. With a record of 8-1-1, the Jr. Irish team won the Midwest division this summer to qualify. Seja played forward, lead the team in points and has been recognized on the national Super Y website as a “Top Performer.” In addition to Seja, the Jr. Irish team consisted of players from Penn, St. Joe, Marian, Adams, Northridge, as well as a few from Southwest Michigan.
This is a very exciting opportunity for the girls as the event will be attended by collegiate, U.S. Soccer and professional scouts. Top players from each age group will also earn an invitation to the 2019 United Soccer League Experience, which is an elite, multi-day event hosted by a professional soccer club that offers competitive training, high-caliber games and access to professional players and coaches.
The Super Y League, founded in 1999, is an elite youth soccer league with teams from the United States and Canada that is dedicated to the development of future collegiate and professional players.
