The 2023 Falcon Award will be presented on Tuesday February 20th, 2023 at the John Glenn vs. Concord Boys Basketball game. The varsity game will tip off at approximately 7:30 and the award will be presented at half time. This year’s recipient is Todd Burch. Mr. Burch has had many different jobs over the years for John Glenn Schools. In 1983 he started Substitute Teaching and did so for 10 years. He drove a school bus for 12 years and was a teacher's aide for JESSE for 5 years. Currently Mr. Burch has been teaching 23 out of 26 years at John Glenn. He has worked many track meets and many football games running the 40-second clock, but was also a band dad for 6 years when his sons were in school. Todd’s wife, Karen, graduated from John Glenn in 1983 and their oldest son, Nathan, graduated from John Glenn in 2006 and youngest son, Eric, in 2009. Mr. Burch would really like to dedicate this award to his father, DuWayne Burch, who passed away December 14, 2023. Todd’s father came to almost every basketball game with Todd until he wasn’t able anymore. Mr. Burch states “I know he will be looking down Tuesday night with a smile on his face. I am very proud to say I have been a Falcon for so many years.” Come out show Mr. Burch your appreciation on Tuesday night at John Glenn High School at halftime of the boys’ varsity basketball game against Concord.
